The opportunity to capitalise on the high demand for beachfront apartments on the Sunshine Coast presented itself to Double R Projects in 2018, with the purchase of a rare parcel of land just steps from the beach.
By the time plans for Latitude Coolum Beach had been finalised, the COVID-19 pandemic was well underway, generating much uncertainty in the market. However, given Double R Project’s confidence in the boutique product and its commitment to keeping local trades employed, the decision was made to commence construction as much of Australia and the world were locking down.
This proved to be a wise decision with many using the pandemic as a catalyst to evaluate their current situation and make decisions about their future. This resulted in large migration from the southern states to the Sunshine Coast, leading to a boom in property prices — particularly in beachside locations — which was further fuelled by low interest rates.
