You may not be aware that the Double R Group stable of investments includes part-ownership of the Hervey Bay Hotel and Resort, but with new head chef Sohan Karki joining the family we invite you to come and enjoy our fantastic new menu when you are next in the seaside destination.
Double R Director Ken says Sohan brings with him a wealth of experience, having previously worked at iconic Brisbane restaurants Chu the Phat and Madam Wu, and looks forward to delivering authentic Asian street food to the Fraser Coast.
“Of course everyone’s pub favourites will remain on the menu at the Hotel, however I think many locals will be just as excited as we are to have Sohan’s additions to the menu,” Ken said.
Sohan said he chose to make the move north, as he was eager to take on the challenge of creating a new menu and experience at the hotel.
“When the opportunity presented itself to me, I couldn’t say no,” Sohan said.
“I love the Fraser Coast and the relaxed lifestyle it has to offer, it’s certainly a change of pace to the bright lights of Brisbane.”
New additions to the menu include Yum Cha, banquet menus and dishes such as Wagyu dumplings, steamed pork buns, spiced pork ribs and Manila spicy chicken and chilli.
